If you’ve recently switched from Windows to macOS, one of the first things you might look for is the Refresh key (usually F5 on a PC). On Windows, hitting F5 reloads your desktop, file explorer, or web browser. On a MacBook, however, things work differently.

Once you train your fingers to use , you won’t miss the Windows F5 key. And in many ways, macOS’s approach is cleaner — you refresh only what needs refreshing, not the entire desktop.
