Tomb Raider: Shadow of the Eclipse

“Heard you raid tombs for a living.”

“Three hostiles, west tunnel,” replied her hacker, Q. “And, Lex? The mask isn’t just a treasure. It’s a key. A blood key.”

She stood, cracked her neck, and rappelled down the pyramid—no butler, no manor, just a stolen jeep waiting in the jungle.

Surfacing, she found herself in a sacrificial chamber. Hieroglyphs glowed faintly: “Two souls. One eclipse. One dies so the sun may live.”

She tossed the flare. White light erupted. As they cursed blindly, she dove into an underwater tunnel, the mask strapped to her chest.

“Yeah,” she whispered, staring at the ashes. “Tomb’s empty. Let’s go home.”

Outside, the eclipse began—a slow, hungry bite out of the sun. Lexi climbed a temple pyramid, the mask now burning hot. Q’s voice crackled: “The legends say the mask needs a volunteer’s blood, or it takes the sun itself.”
