The episode opens in the royal court of Akbar. A tense silence hangs in the air as a messenger from Amer arrives with a scroll. He announces that Maharaja Bharmal, Jodha’s father, has fallen seriously ill and has asked for her presence. Jodha’s hands tremble as she reads the letter. Akbar, seated on the throne, notices her distress and immediately grants her permission to leave for Amer, despite Sujamal’s objections that a queen traveling without the emperor could be seen as weakness.

Back in Agra, Akbar receives a disturbing report: a group of bandits, rumored to be funded by rebel nobles, is heading toward Amer. He cannot send an army without provoking a political crisis. So, he decides to go himself — alone, under cover of night.

The episode ends with a dramatic double shot: Jodha praying before a diya in Amer, whispering, “Keep him safe, Lord Krishna,” while Akbar rides his horse into the darkness, saying, “I will not let her lose anyone else she loves.”
