Helicals abandons the Manhattan grid entirely. The building’s core is a continuous, double-helix ramp of blackened oak and resin, reminiscent of a DNA strand snapped mid-twist. There are no sharp corners. The windows—floor-to-ceiling arcs of non-reflective glass—are set at oblique angles, forcing the viewer to tilt their head to see the Williamsburg Bridge.
